Abstract

Nearly 1.4 million people in the United States will be diagnosed with cancer in 2008 and more than 560,000 will lose their lives to this disease.  Yet the hopeful side of cancer has never been more hopeful.  The American Cancer Society has achieved much in the fight against cancer during the past century by setting strategies with clear and measurable goals, collaborating with other like-minded organizations, and empowering a nation of cancer-fighting advocates.  Dr.  John Seffrin will share his experiences as chief executive officer of the American Cancer Society in this special session
